Introduction The Don-Nan Shear Tool was designed to disengage a fiberglass rod string from the pump if the pum becomes stuck in the tubing from sand, paraffin, or scale, thereby saving the customer valuable downtime that is associated with most stripping jobs. Don-Nan Shear Tools are tested to insure an accurate and consistent shear every time. Description This two piece box-to-box coupling is held together by dual pins of predetermined lengths and have been designed to shear prior to damaging the sucker rod string. Advantages The Tool is available to fit all sucker rod pins. Standard tools will have a shear value of 26,000-lbs. (26k) with an option of 18K, 21K or 33K available upon request. The Tool is designed to fail before the sucker rod parts in a string. The Tool is tested to insure an accurate and consistent shear every time.
